2025 Pollinator Festival and Plant Sale to be Saturday, June 7, in Deep Run Park Recreation Center

Henrico County Master Gardeners will hold their annual Pollinator Festival and Spring Plant Sale 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 7, in the Recreation Center at Deep Run Park in Henrico’s west end.

Master Gardeners will be selling plants from their own gardens at bargain prices. The event will also include pre-made floral arrangements available for purchase, a “Garden Treasures” table selling gently used gardening items, educational displays, musical entertainment and food trucks.

Last year, nearly 1,000 people attended the event, and more than 3,000 potted plants, including 250 varieties of perennials, shrubs, trees, herbs and some houseplants, were offered for sale.
In addition to the sales, Junior Master Gardeners will offer a number of hands-on children’s activities, and a photo booth where families can take pictures of their children posing as butterflies.

Educational booths will include Henrico Cooperative Extension, Keep Henrico Beautiful, Riverine Master Naturalists, Virginia Natural Heritage Program, Pocahontas Chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society, Plant Virginia Natives, LERN, Wild Ones, Richmond Council of Garden Clubs, Chadwick’s Orchids, Virginia State Apiarist, Department of Forestry, a vermiculture demonstration, composting information, pollinator displays and speakers. Tool and knife sharpening will also be available.

William (Tripp) and Jenny Johnson, part of the group the Cary Street Ramblers, will provide musical entertainment with light bluegrass guitar melodies on their string instruments.

Super Bowlz food truck will be on site selling wings, subs, fries and drinks.

Henrico County Master Gardeners will be staffing a Plant Clinic to answer gardening questions. Admission is free.

“The Henrico Master Gardeners’ annual pollinator festival and plant sale offers high-quality, homegrown plants at low prices while also providing a fun and educational experience for everyone,” said co-chair Nadine Oswald. “We are excited to showcase a wide variety of plants and gardening items, along with engaging activities for children and informative displays for gardeners of all ages.”
