  • Installed June 2017 by Henrico County Master Gardeners & Parks and Recreation.

  • Every plant in the garden serves as a host plant, nectar plant or both to our native pollinators.
  • 32 Native Plant species. See plant list HERE
  • The garden is designated as a Monarch Waystation – it provides the host plants (milkweed), nectar plants, and shelter for Monarchs through their cycle of reproduction and migration.
  • Bluebird House, donated by Wild Birds Unlimited, has hosted several bluebird families.

Native Bee Nest 1 @ Short Pump

  • Native Bee House has hosted both mason bees and leafcutter bees – efficient native bee pollinators!
  • Outreach and Education Events with Master Gardeners are held throughout the year, including Sundays in the Garden” (2nd Sundays – June thru Sept) and “Weekend on Wednesday” (W.O.W.), sponsored by Henrico Recreation & Parks.
